PA state budget - asking for $6.2 million more for public libraries

PA state budget - asking for $6.2 million more for public libraries

We are urging members and non-members to speak to their state-level elected officials about the public library subsidy.

Please send a message to your PA Representative and PA Senator. You can look up your legislators here: Look up PA state level legislators

The message should include

1) the attached ASK document showing our request for $6.2 million more ($1.55 more per card holder) in the public library subsidy, AND

2) asking legislators to show their support by sending a letter to their party caucus leaders (listed below) telling them they agree with increasing the public library subsidy, AND

3) libraries make a difference in READING, literacy, and the success of our residents and communities.

Legislative leaders where YOUR official should send their support email/letter (only send to their own party):

Senate Republican Appropriations Chair:  Scott Martin
Senate Republican Caucus Chair:  Kristin Phillips-Hill

Senate Democratic Appropriations Chair:  Vincent Hughes
Senate Democratic Caucus Chair:  Maria Collett
