King's College is seeking a forward-thinking Instruction & Reference Librarian (12-month faculty non-tenure) to contribute to the library’s active instruction program, research support services, collection development, and outreach efforts. The librarian in this position will work closely with faculty and students to provide effective and timely research support and instruction in a variety of formats to programs across the curriculum, with a special focus on programs in the School of Health Sciences. The librarian will also support the emerging use of AI in teaching and research by providing guidance and instruction on tools, critical evaluation of results, and ethical use. Additional responsibilities include participation in department, college-wide, and professional activities. Occasional weeknight appointments or shifts may be required.

Requirements:

  • An ALA-accredited master's degree in library science.
  • A demonstrated interest in teaching and commitment to student learning is essential.
  • Experience in library or classroom instruction and willingness to teach in hybrid or fully online environments.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in health sciences research, and familiarity with current trends in information literacy instruction and academic librarianship.
  • Previous experience working in health sciences librarianship (Physician Assistant, Athletic Training, Nursing, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to support the use of emerging learning and research technologies, including AI-related technologies, by providing guidance and instruction on tools, critical evaluation of results, and ethical use.
  • Ability to create student-focused instructional materials using emerging technologies.
  • A strong public service orientation, with effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A strong desire to take initiative and be self-directed, while also collaborating with others.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of patrons including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and adult learners.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving institutional and department priorities and needs.
  • Evidence of potential to meet requirements for faculty advancement, including professional development, scholarship, and service.

King's College is a private, Catholic, teaching college of the liberal arts & sciences and pre-professional programs sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. The College serves over 2000 FT & PT undergraduate & graduate students. A rigorous core curriculum provides the foundation for all majors.
