The Altoona Area Public Library is currently seeking a full-time Cataloging and Interlibrary Loan Librarian. This position is responsible for collection management, processing orders and maintaining record of packing slips, importing and creating MARC records, adding holdings to records, and tracking supply orders.  This position also oversees the Interlibrary Loan services that the library provides to patrons as well as resource-sharing partners.

A high proficiency in skills including communication, attention to detail, and technology is required. Candidates should excel at time management, Google Suite and Microsoft Office. A successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to work independently.

Position generally works 8:30am – 5pm Monday through Friday, and includes paid holidays, generous vacation days, sick days, health insurance including dental and vision at no cost to the employee, and a retirement plan.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.
• Experience working in various public library departments (such as circulation desk, clerical, audiovisual, technical services).
• Familiarity with online library catalogs and integrated library systems, including Evergreen and OCLC.

A current driver’s license and the ability to obtain the Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Record Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance is mandatory.

Entry level salary $40,000.00
