Personal Membership Application

Instructions

Membership dues are for an annual amount and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Regular membership dues are based on your annual salary, and are $30 - $185 annually.

  • You will enter your annual salary in the thousands, and it will be multiplied by 3 to determine your dues. Example: you earn $25,000 annually. You will enter "25" and the system will multiply that by 3 to generate an invoice for $75 in annual dues.
  • This membership is open to ALL library staff!

Lay membership is for individuals who don't work in a library, but are supporters! We welcome Friends of Library groups and others to join.

Retired membership is for library staff that have retired and wish to remain connected and supportive.

Student membership is for either full-time students or for part-time students who are pursuing a library-related degree and simultaneously working in a Pennsylvania library. Student memberships are limited to five years. 

Those wishing to join as an ALA & PaLA joint student member must go through the ALA.org website. 

Trustee membership is available for individuals currently serving on a library board.

Note: You can not change membership types on your own and will need to call or email staff to switch member types, such as from regular to retired, or student to regular.
